To change the filter on a 600 series unit, remove the top of the unit to reveal the filters. Remove the top filter and then slide out the additional filters on each side. When inserting the new filters, follow the labels on the filter packaging to assure they are facing the correct way. Don’t worry about which filter is placed where, they’re all the same.
To allow the SurroundAir™ technology to work correctly, we suggest leaving 4 or more inches around the entire unit.
To replace the filters in your 600 series unit, you only need to purchase one filter package, containing 3 filters. The 500/600 series filters are the same and will always come with the three necessary filters.
Give us a call, 1.888.BLUEAIR, and we’ll order you a new one. Broken wheels can easily be removed by simply turning the unit on its side and pulling out the wheel. A new wheel can be popped back in, in the same way.
You might notice one side of your new filter is black, this is because we’ve added a sheet of activated carbon to make the unit more visually appealing and increase it’s odor and gas removal.
This is usually caused by the sensor being clogged. To fix the problem you will need to use a can of compressed air and give the sensor area a couple of 3 second blasts. On the 600 series units, the sensors are located in a small grate just to the right of the digital display.
To reset the filter replacement indicator on an ‘E’ series unit, press and hold the “TIMER” button for 5 seconds. The filter change indicator light will turn off and the counter will begin its countdown to the next filter change(188 days).
The filter timer built into your electronic unit will flash an LED light to indicate when it needs to be changed.
